Easy Necklace-H2H Entry

My entry this week for the challenge at is a quick and easy necklace. The challenge was to use the colors black, tulip and buttercream. I used Close To My Heart inks:Black, Tulip and Creme Brulee (subbed for the buttercream). I stamped a flower from the CTMH Flower Pot stamp set ( a former SOM-not available)and the word "joy" from the CTMH Soul Mates stamp set in Black. Then I used a blender pen dipped in the Creme Brulee ink pad to color in the center of the flower and the blender pen dipped in the Tulip ink pad to color in the flower. I used the same technique to color the leaves with Sweet Leaf. I wrapped a piece of CTMH Waxy Flax around the whole thing for a bit of flair. I used a pendant frame with glass purchased from HL to frame the tiny piece of art and threaded a long piece of CTMH White Daisy Organdy Ribbon through the ring. Now I have a new handcrafted necklace to wear!

Masculine Notepad Holder

In honor of Father's Day and to enter the H2H challenge (, I created a masculine post-it note holder.  The challenge was to use recycled materials and scraps.  I love this because I don't throw anything away if I think I can use it to craft.  These post-it note holders are perfect to use up bits of paper and embellies.  I started with a $1 acrylic frame.  The paper was from the Felicity collection from Close To My Heart and literally came from my scrap drawer.  The stars are rusty metal stars from an old 4th of July decoration that I took apart last year-  I thought about painting them but I really like the rusty, rustic look as is..  The CTMH Waxy Flax is the only thing I used to embellish that was new from the package.   I have had the metal "forever" tag forever!-it was leftover from a whole set of them-it was the last!  I stamped the top note with a stamp from the CTMH "Shining Star" set in Chocolate ink.

GASC 2010

I attended the Great American Scrapbook Conv in Arlington this weekend with some friends.  Oh my it was wonderful, but the one thing I could have done all day was watch Tim Holtz share all his amazing art techniques.  I was blessed to get a pic with him and have him sign a tag I made using his die cuts (it's the one in an older post that's a bird and cage).  If you are not familiar with his talent then check out  He has lots of on-line videos showing how to make great scrapbook art.

Hi everyone, another entry for  I'm glad they spark my creativity each week.  This is a layout of my TX Redbud tree a few weeks ago when it was Spring here for a few days.  We are hitting the 3 digits now and summer is in full swing already!

I used papers from the Cherry-O Collection.  One thing I love about Close To My Heart papers is they're double-sided.  So this is 1 sheet of paper with one side blue and the other side pink.  The letters, scalloped borders and flower stick-ease are also from the Cherry-O Collection.   So versatile!  The cute little bees are from the Spring Petite Perks stamp set.  I used our Glitz glitter glue to add sparkle.  The flower is Prima and I used a "homemade" mixture of water, CTMH Pearl Paint and Hollyhock Re-inker to spritz it.  The brads are from Basic Grey.  I used my new CTMH foam brush dabbed in Chocolate ink to burnish the edges of the whole thing.  Thanks for looking!  Oh, did you spot the real bee?
